Kate Moffat

I am a registered Naturopath and Clinical Nutritionist. After practising alongside Dr Steve Joe since 2013, I now run my own practice with clinic spaces in Hamilton and Cambridge.

Like many practitioners in natural medicine, my path into this work was shaped by my own health challenges. I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease at the age of 20 after years of persistent ill health. While transitioning to a gluten-free diet was essential, it did not resolve many of my symptoms. It was only when my health was approached more broadly looking beyond nutrition alone, that I experienced significant improvement. This experience reshaped my understanding of health and continues to inform the way I practise today.

I work across a wide range of presentations and consider myself versatile in the cases I support. My particular clinical interests include hormonal imbalances, fertility and infertility, postpartum health, digestive concerns, stress and burnout, anxiety, skin conditions, and complex chronic illness. Having personal experience with Coeliac disease, I also have a strong clinical focus in this area and an appreciation for its complexity.

I understand health as a balance influenced by many interconnected factors. Modern life places ongoing demands on the body, including chronic stress, inadequate sleep, suboptimal nutrition, environmental exposures, and disturbances within the gut microbiome. Over time, these pressures can contribute to patterns of imbalance that present as ongoing symptoms or reduced wellbeing.

Treatment plans are individualised and comprehensive, often addressing lifestyle, emotional, and dietary factors alongside targeted support for underlying imbalances such as nutritional deficiencies or increased toxic burden, including mould exposure.

The care I provide is considered, thorough, and genuinely holistic.

I work with people of all ages, from newborns through to adults, and value building long-term therapeutic relationships. I look forward to supporting you and your family on your journey towards improved health and resilience.

My point of difference

Working alongside Dr Steve Joe since 2013 has provided me with ongoing clinical mentorship and exposure to highly complex cases. This experience has shaped my clinical approach and allowed me to develop a depth of understanding in Integrative Medicine and Naturopathy that extends well beyond formal training alone.

I also use muscle testing as part of my assessment process to help identify contributing factors and guide supplement selection. While this approach may feel unfamiliar to some, many patients value the precision it offers and the clarity it brings to their care, particularly in complex or long-standing health concerns.

work with me

Outside of work, you’ll find me in active wear being kept on my toes by two young kids. I enjoy reading fiction, spending time at the beach, riding my bike along the Waikato river trails, yoga, and my morning cup of coffee.

I am passionate about continued education and will often be found listening to a clinical podcast or webinar in my spare time.
